Our Apiary Booster/ Utility Nucs are smaller 3 frame Nucleus Colonies that can be used to populate hives, help boost existing weak/ queenless colonies, those that have swarmed toward the end of the season and for wintering nucleus colonies for expansion. These are headed by our proven Heritage Queens that are produced in our operation here in Maine.
These Units are a great step up from the standard 3LB Packages as they consist of 3 frames well-filled with mostly- sealed brood and +/- 3lbs of bees helping them expand more rapidly while preventing some of the issues that are inherent with packages. They are also a great alternative to the more common and expensive 5 frame nucleus colonies that many suppliers sell out of early in the season.
These are produced from our overwintered colonies and will be inspected for strength and health to ensure that you are getting the highest quality product available. These units will be installed into your equipment. Transport boxes are available upon request for an additional fee.
